iDive crash

iDive crash

Postby GrasJeroen » Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:03 pm

I'd like to upgrade to the new iDive (at least, when I view the new features). However, my first experience is bad, as I can easily crash iDive when importing a new tape. This tape is an AVI file of about 12Gb (1 hour). I use one frame per two seconds for preview, and after a while the system crashes. I tried again, and it crashes again. I notieced that the memory usage is going wild, so it looks like this is a memory leak, somewhere. Is there a fix available?

I have changed the frequency with which the frames are captured as image to one image per five seconds, and now the crash does not happen anymore. However, it does not detect scenes :-( when I say so. So, this is a new problem ...

Hi

Could you download 2.0.3 here
www.aquafadas.eu/software/iDive.dmg

in which we have fixed a memory leak.

Thanks for using iDive

Unfortunately this version crashes immediately, so there's no way to say the other behavior has improved. Is this perhaps a 64 bit version only? I'm still on Leopard, not Snow Leopard.

Hi

This is not a memory leak because iDive goes through the whole video decoding a frame every two seconds. Could you just reduce the sample frequency and retry. Besides, we've fixed some other bugs and released a test version here
